This is an excellent sound card for a PCI Express-based system. It is a high-quality unit with a reasonable price tag for a PCIe sound card. PCIe sound cards are all expensive compared to PCI units, so this is relatively reasonable. This unit has excellent analog sound quality, even though the front panel jacks, which were staticky with other sound cards I've tried. The card and all of its controls were immediately picked up and automatically configured correctly for ALSA.
