Drivers must be downloaded from these two pages on Brother's web site:
printer and
scanner.
Printing works perfectly over wifi or usb. Scanning does not work with Linux over wifi, and using usb requires following instructions, as root, on both of these two pages:
driver installation and
scanner setting for normal user.
The machine connected by my 802.11 g/n WPA2-encrypted network without any problems, and works without any problems on recent versions of Windows and Mac OS X. Functions independent of the computer (faxing and photocopying) also work perfectly.
