Description: Iomega eGo Helium 500GB Portable Hard Drive USB 2.0

Pretty basic info, just a 500GB hard drive. Is detected and works with Linux kernel 2.6.34.1.

Silver model tested with Slackware Linux 13.1. Worked and automagically appeared on desktop (with HFS+ filesystem) when first plugged in.

Would you recommend the product? yes | Price you paid? (in USD): $129.99 | Rating: 10

Kernel (uname -r): 2.6.34.1
Distribution: Slackware 13.1

Ruggedized (passed the Popular Mechanics tests), works when plugged in the first time every time. Write speed is good, and works with cryptsetup (LUKS) and multiple partitions. Came with HFS+ FS on it but I didn't need that anyways :)

I can't complain, so far it works as advertised without any special instructions (just plug and use). Thumbs up!
