The laptop came with Linpus Linux, which was broken from the beginning. I wiped it clean and installed Arch Linux from a CD (the machine is very picky when it comes to booting via USB).
It has an ACPI problem, if you're going to use 64-bits, you have to update the BIOS to fix overheating (the fan never kicks in except when it's too late) and wireless (keeps going down) problems.
Otherwise, everything works with a stock kernel (just need to install firmware for the WLAN). The only problems I had were with the card reader (doesn't accept Memory Stick, only SD cards) and hibernation (VERY unreliable, often it fails to return).
All in all, it's a decent choice of Linux laptop (as is pretty much anything Acer, I see).
