The Pixart Webcam 100 is a popular, low cost imaging chip build into numerous webcams.
The device requires the gspca_main and gpsca_pac207 modules to run. Functionality with v4l1 support has been very buggy and ran only with specific manufacturers.
v4l2 modules (added since kernel version 2.6.32) are more reliable and usually provide basic functionality. I have however not gotten this cam to use the movie writer or to use any size/sample/colordepth scaling of the mjpeg output stream. streamer can only retrieve static jpegs.
Overall I rule the device to be unsuitable for every day use.
