Description: This card worked great for me under slack 12.2 with the 2.6.27.31 kernel. The funny thing is that the RALink RT2870sta driver will NOT work even though it does have this chipset.

You must download the RT3070sta driver from the RALink website and make some modifications including adding your device ID to the source.

I would be happy to write a small HOW-TO if needed. I scoured the internet for answers but in the end I figured this out on my own.

Kernel (uname -r):
Distribution: simplymepis

I would love a detailed how-to. I just installed simplymepis after spending many hours, yet again, cleaning up viruses and malware on my Windows computer. No turning back now, I reformatted the HD and installed simplymepis.

I have the Belkin USP wireless adapter described here and it is recognized under lsusb but not recognized as a wireless NIC. I would appreciate any help, as I am a Linux noob, albeit well versed in the Windows world.

Thanks in advance,
