Would you recommend the product? yes | Price you paid? (in USD): $600.00 | Rating: 8

Kernel (uname -r): 2.6.27.19-3.2-default
Distribution: openSUSE 11.1

I recently bought this laptop. After a standard openSUSE installation the sound was the only thing not working. It was an easy fix with the help from http://forums.opensuse.org/hardware/laptop/397818-linux-hp-pavilion-dv5-1002nr.html

The multimedia buttons don't seem to work, although the volume adjustor does change the system beep volume, so I think I could fix that also. Wireless, webcam works out of the box. One more thing: the KDE 4.2 powerdevil seems to randomly lock the screen, but there is a fix for that also, just google it.
