Kernel (uname -r): 2.6.17-5mdv
Distribution: Mandriva 2007 Powerpack

A simple and inexpensive flash drive. With my Mandriva 2007 and KDE 3.5 on a Compaq Evo, it's was just "plug and play". Have the system up and running and then plug the drive into one of the front USB ports, wait a few seconds for the flash drive's LED to blink. Find the drive by double clicking the "Device" icon on the desktop. Highlight the drive in the Konqueror screen, right click and choose "Safely Unmount" wait a few seconds for the LED to flash, look for the change in state of the device to "Unmounted" and remove the flash drive. I move files by "drag and drop" from "Home" Konqueror" screen to the "Devices" Konquorer screen. I did not have to format the drive. <br>
