Description: This camera uses xD memory cards and supports movies (which are also supported in Linux).

This works the same way most digital cameras in Linux do. Compile the modules for usb support (I used uhci), usb_storage, scsi, and scsi drive emulation (I'm not sure if all of these are needed, because of a previous compatibility problem I had with another SCSI device. I'll run some tests and get back to you all on this).

Make sure the camera's USB mode is *NOT* set to PC CAM (otherwise a connection will not be established). Modprobe the above modules, and plug in your camera. With any luck, dmesg will report that it has been correctly detected and mention sda (or sdn, where n is the letter after your last detected scsi drive).

Create a mountpoint at /mnt/digicam or anywhere else you choose, and type mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/digicam . By browsing around /mnt/digicam, you will come across a directory that contains all of your pictures and movies that are ready to be copied to your hard drive.

You can also use 'rm' to remove files after you've transferred them. Make sure to umount the camera before unplugging it/turning it off.

This camera did not work properly for me under 2.6.5. It now works perfectly in 2.6.7.

It is mounted in my system (automagically) under /dev/sda1.

It might be worth mentioning that I chmod a+x /proc/bus/usb for my scanner to work properly, and a similar command might be neccesary for the camera to be mounted by anyone other than root.
