Dimensions: approx. 5 x 7.5 cm (2 x 3")

Device mounts as USB mass storage device.

No DRM, but no formats other than MP3 + WMA (audio) and MP4 (video) with MP2 (audio track) (i.e. no AAC).

Supports .lrc (lyrics subtitles).

The manual only describes the GUI, nothing more. No technical data. No further information.

According to some postings, the battery capacity is believed to be 3 h (video), 6 h (audio). Charging via USB (but not via the computer, as far as I can tell). The "AC adapter" has a mains plug and a USB socket. It seems that if a computer is detected on the other end of the USB cable, the device does not switch to charge mode. Only the "dumb" AC adapter seems to work.

The enclosed AVI converter software is for Windows only. But as it turns out, it's just a GUI for an old Windows Mencoder version. It took me some time to get the mencoder options, but they work under Linux as well.

The "ebook" function: well, the unit can display ASCII files... somehow.

There are some usability issues (black text on dark blue background, charging issue) and I miss a bookmark feature for podcasts.

There is an option "Firmware update", but I haven't found any so far on the manufacture's website.

Hello vimico,

Would it be possible to receive mencoder options you used to create avi files for the device. My little girl has one and i would like to access the device from my Linux box.

Best regards,

Yves
