Description: Japanese model, purchased Yodobashi Camera.
Processor: 1GHz Centrino.
RAM: 748MB
HD: Toshiba IDE, 80GB.
DVD/CD: MATSHITA DVD-RAM, Burner.
Audio: Intel AC97
Additional features: SD, Compact Flash, Bluetooth, FIR/SIR.

Notes.
Graphics/DRM: uses i810 and i915 modules.
SD: Follow Texas secure digital howto's.
CF: Requires, Drivers>ATA/ATAPI/etc>/PCMCIA IDE support.
Bluetooth: Connected to USB. Needs Toshiba bluetooth patch (acpi) to activate. Depending on patch, and kernel, power on/off is through proc or toshset. Problem is, that it is necessary to load the acpi_toshiba module, which prevents programs such as KToshiba for power management. (Want's to see toshiba module). If anyone has a better solution, please let me know.
FIR (Fast Infra-red): Working (SIR not working at this stage), requires smsc-ircc2 module, plus some additional tweaking, including ISA support (Serial, ISA bridge). See tutorial http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...laptop-499536/
Keywords: Laptop, Toshiba, dynabook, portege m300, ipw2200, bluetooth, FIR, infrared, sd, compact flash
