Overall a good pick for linux. Nothing was too complicated to set up except the broadcom wireless but that is becoming easier by the day now. It is pretty much a launch and go laptop and i have had no prolems with it what so ever. I have the first version and put in an extra 512mb of ram and that helped out performance. i would recommend this as it is easy to set-up and works well.

In most all respects this an excellent laptop. However, the wifi card is a poor performer under windows and the lack of free drivers under linux is sad, but the deal breaker is it's not possible to change this card. HP will provide only identical replacements as the system requires an embedded electronic serial, without it the system will not initialize. Had I known about this before I bought the laptop I would have gone with Toshiba. You can remove the card but you can't replace it with a non HP card, it simply won't work.
