Description:
|
After more research, I found that this is also known as the Syba 32-in-1 card reader,
model CL-U2CR-32BK ads refer to 2 gigabytes, which I assume is a limitation on how much memory a card can have in using it.
Made in France, this memory card reader/writer handles 58 varieties of CF/Microdrive, XD, MS Duo, MS/MS Pro, Mini SD, SDHC, and SD/MMC formats. At least it says it does, I've only tested an SD memory card in it, no memory sticks or anything else.
Mandriva Free 2006 (2.6.12 kernel) recognized it immediately as a /dev/sd(x) device, with no downloads or additional drivers needed. Reading and writing went fine onto a test SD memory chip. Packaging does not say that it is Linux compatible, but does mention MAC OS X, which is a fairly good indication that recent Linux distros will hande it alright.
Cost was US $15
