Had this printer up & printing (over ethernet) on a dual core AMD-64 in five minutes using Brother's cups driver & FAQ! I've only printed a few docs so far, but am very pleased. FAST! Good looking output even in "toner saver" mode, albeit some tweaking might improve color fidelity. Seems to be well built & heavy enough to be an effective boat anchor when spent. I'm so glad I didn't waste another $50 on a cheap inkjet. Brother still keeps linux users in the closet, but at least it's a nice, well equipped closet.
