Description: This scanner can scan up to 1200dpi (I think), in colour. It is connected by USB.

The vendor has discontinued support for it (checked on November 2007), and there are no drivers for Windows Vista.

However, the scanner works on the Ubuntu Feisty-supplied kernel (output of uname -r follows):
2.6.20-16-generic

I bought this scanner in around 2000, and was good for the time. However, I don't think that by today's (2007) standards, it is very good! By default the contrast / brightness of images that are scanned is not great, and retouching is always required.

Nevertheless, it is now "exclusive" to Linux, in the sense that there are no Windows Vista drivers available for it, yet it works on Kubuntu Feisty with kernel 2.6.20-16-generic... ironic!

I suppose it makes a great scanner for infrequent use, perhaps text-only scanning.
