Great performance from a great processor. I have been an AMD user for quite some time and plan to be for as long as possible. I recommend Athlon XP processors to anyone who asks or is wondering which to buy. The Athlon 2400+ has proven to be a worthy CPU and deserves very high praise.

Have had no reason to suspect this CPU of any wrong doing other than when using Knoppix, "error: only one CPU" :-)

Kernel (uname -r): 2.6.8.1
Distribution: Slackware 10

Installs fine, runs very well. no problems. stable with redhat 9 as well, and knopix. A good quiet fine is useful. Goes unreliable after about 5 minutes running on heatsink with fan disconnected. As with all modern cpus, run without heatsink kills processor.
no problems with kernel compile.(2.6.8.1)
