USB is the only interface I have currently used for this drive with Linux, but proves to be faultless. The drive appears as a SCSI device (like a typical solid state USB stick) and can be easily mounted/unmounted manually.
The capacity gauge feature of the light ont he front of the unit only works with the driver software installed, and that portion is Windows only, but that is pure eye candy.
