Description: This is an Ultra-wide PCI SCSI Controller that was put out by Diamond in the late 1990's. It had a narrow SCSI connector on the back, a Wide SCSI connector internally, and also a 50 pin IDC connector.

It was controlled by a SymBios chipset (53C875J), and supported 3.3v or 5v PCI slots.

The card has it's own Bios support for devices attached, and was apparently written by the folks at Diamond Multimedia. It appears to have all of the same sort of things you would find on an Adaptec card of the same capability.

(Ctrl-C gets you into the utility)

I have had this card for years, and it has always been a good card to me. Heck, I still use it today, and I have had it almost ten years. That is pretty good lifespan for a PC component, if you ask me.

Here is the dmesg output of the card with nothing attached to it when the module for it is loaded:

Code:
sym0: <875J> rev 0x4 at pci 0000:01:0a.0 irq 19
sym0: Symbios NVRAM, ID 7, Fast-20, SE, parity checking
sym0: open drain IRQ line driver, using on-chip SRAM
sym0: using LOAD/STORE-based firmware.
sym0: SCSI BUS has been reset.
scsi2 : sym-2.2.3

Now I am very confused. This is a SCSI card, but it was moved into audio devices, which is COMPLETELY wrong. Someone needs to move it back to SCSI cards where it belongs.
