* Supports up to 12 drives with a single PCI card enabling up to 3. 6 terabytes of storage (dependent on drive capacity, 2TB per array maximum)

32-bit / 66MHz PCI compliant)
* RAID 0, 1, 10, 5 and JBOD support (2-port controllers support RAID 0,1 and JBOD)
* Highest performance ATA RAID Controller
* On-board processor to provide true hardware-based RAID
* Bootable array support for greater fault tolerance
* BIOS set up utility and 3ware Disk Manager (3DM®) web-based management software
* Hot-swap and hot-spare capability (hot-spare not available on 2-port controllers)
* Windows® and Linux® operating systems support

Support is built into stock kernels, as a module.
Early 2.6 and prior kernels load the module too late to mount during boot up. I solved this by compiling the driver into the kernel.

It has worked flawlessly for 2years
