There was a bios update Jan 2007 that fixed a few linux issues. Update the bios or you may experience crashes.
I have no fans peed issues with this board but I did flash the bios first due to reading this post:

Two questions:
(1) Have you had any issues with Suse 10.2 and this both with respect to ATAPI related errors? I installed a Plextor 760a ATA burner and have not been able to successfully burn a disc.
(2) How did you upgrade the BIOS? Bootable DOS floppy or CD?
