Hooray for Samsung for helping us Linux users out. This printer came with ppd drivers for Cups! If you need a mono Laserjet for Linux, here it is. I didn't try the installer. I used the gnome-cups-manager. The driver is in /media/cdrom/Linux/noarch/at_opt/share/ppd/ML-2510spl2.ppd

I ignored the included installation shell script since the gnome-cups-manager worked fine. The script looks like it tries to walk you through a graphical cups installation.

This gives me another reason to avoid HP.

PS, This is offtopic but Epson is a Nazi w/ its ink cartridges. If one color runs out they don't print at all. F*&% you Epson!

Samsung 2510 mono laser printer has been in service for over six months with no problems. Runs with a variety of Linux distributions. Sometimes I install using the higher level model drivers if the specific 2510 drivers are not listed.

The output is crisp and quick. The bulk of my printing is black & white. With the price of color prints at the local Sam's Club, I cannot compete by printing my own color pictures.

The printer was purchased at Office Max on sale for $69.00 US.
