Excellent card in Windows. Amazing sound, excellent processing.

No sound whatsoever in Linux. Closed-source drivers from Creative are supposedly on the way, but they won't be ready until the middle of 2007. The ALSA devs have absolutely no programming information from Creative, which means you will not get any sound out of it.

In Windows, this product would receive a 9 or a 10. In Linux, it is currently a 1, and in fact should be a 0 (NO SOUND!). If and when the drivers from Creative actually go live, then I'll rethink my rating.

Unless you use Windows to play games (which I do) and don't mind having zero sound in Linux (or have another soundcard), do not buy this card.

They released a 64 bit driver for linux.
IT WON'T WORK ON A 32 BIT SYSTEM.
There are no plans to release the source code or a 32 bit driver.
