Kodak gives absolutely no support for their Cameras under Linux.
The only thing they could tell me was that it is recognized as USB mass storage under Windows XP. That was enough for me to buy it.
However, I did not manage to get it working this way (yet?). Also gphoto2 2.0 (Debian Woody stock) has no support for the CX6330.
After installing the gphoto2 packages (2.1.3) from Debian Testing and adding the line
none /proc/bus/usb usbdevfs devmode=0666 0 0
to /etc/fstab (this is mentioned in the libgphoto install message, but slightly inaccurate) it was a child's play to get the photos and videos from the camera using gtkam.
In video mode the camera generates Quicktime mov files which can be viewed with mplayer.

Kodak gave me an official reply on why they didn't support Linux yet (lots of technical mumbo jumbo).
The version of gtkam that comes with Red Hat 9.1 didn't natively support the CX6330.
However, after installing the newest versions of libgphoto2, gphoto2, and gtkam - all available from www.gphoto2.org - the gtkam front-end application natively supports this camera - sweet! It was pretty simple to start pulling pictures, and saving them on my PC.
It also supports a ton of other cameras - like 141 or something at last count.
