I am using this with a Sempron 3400+ and 1 GB PC2700 DDR RAM. The onboard LAN works with the via-rhine module and snd-via82xx is used for sound. dmesg gives some weird output, but it doesn't appear to affect anything:
agpgart: Unsupported Via chipset (device id: 0282), you might want to try agp_try_unsupported=1.
ALSA ../alsa-kernel/pci/via82xx.c:583: codec_read: codec 0 is not valid [0xfe0000]
I haven't tried SATA drives with this board, or the RAID.

A perfectly good motherboard, unless one is keen to run 3D applications on it in 32-bit mode. There appears to be a significant bug in the BIOS which hasn't yet been resolved by ASUS.
The problem is primarily inaccurate reporting of the AGP aperture by the BIOS to the agpgart module when using a 32-bit Linux. In 64-bit mode, 3D drivers work flawlessly.

I'm experiencing problems with overheating. Perhaps I have the fans misconfigured? At any rate, I had to install the w83627ehf (sensor) and "k8temp" packages, as well as run "powernowd" just to get through installation.

I own this motheboard with Athlon 64 3000 and Radeon 9800 Pro.
I confirm serious problem with AGP.
The result is that you never know will X start or will it crash. After the start everything works stable, but when you need to turn your computer quickly - you may just end with crashed system.
Another problem is unstable network device (it's even not related to Linux).
