Debain etch netinst, without major trouble, (I did not know how to compile SATA, it took some time, but if you know it is easy.)
Slackware 10.2 -> installation is OK, but chokes at pccard intialization at boot. (needs tune up)
slackware 10.1 -> installation is difficult (no SATA drive recognized)

Wireless madwifi.
Xorg excellent.
LAN excellent (8139too.ko)
USB port checked ok.

Modem; I have no connection.
Vidio out; I have no connection.

I am posting to my HCL entry again.

I tried several different combinations of kernel and Debian packages, and the problem described below never goes away.

WeNDOEws does not seem to choke. This problem may be intrinsic to the chip used (???)
