Description: The old Parrallel port Mustek scanner... I've had, no kidding, three of these things throughout the years. A tank of a scanner. Sane stopped supporting it, but if you get an older version the backend with support for this guy is in 1.0.8 and down, maybe 9, they're up 12 by the time of this entry. It takes some hacking of the file typically known as /etc/saned/mustek_pp.conf and dll.conf to get it to see the thing, and a little more for anyone other then root to be able to use it.
Keywords: scanner parrallel flatbed
Connection Type: Parrallel Port

Kernel (uname -r): 2.6.20 self compiled
Distribution: Slackware 11

It's old, and probably long discontinued. Mine was in the shed for the past couple years because it no longer worked under Windows. Thought I'd try it since I switched to Linux.
I think it doesn't have 'fantastic' image quality, but for its age, it works well.
SANE/xsane/xscanimage all work very well with it; I have:
package xsane-0.991
compiled with GTK-2.8.19
See this link for some details on what was involved in making it work:
