Description: This little unit is a USB 2.0 memory card reader that fits in a 3.5" floppy drive slot. It also has a floppy drive in it also. The floppy drive connects via a standard FDD cable and the card reader uses an internal USB header for its data transfer. There is also a standard 4-pin floppy power connection.

This device can read the following formats:
SecureDigital/MultiMedia Card
CompactFlash
Smart Media (both 3.3 and 5V, IIRC)
MemoryStick and MemoryStick Duo
IBM MicroDrive
3.5" floppies, 720 KB and 1.44MB

The device is recognized as two permanent SCSI disks to the OS, unmounted when the two card slots are not being used.

This memory card reader is a very nice, sturdy unit and is well-designed, unlike a lot of pretty cheesy little memory-card readers I've seen. It uses an internal USB 2.0 header and a floppy cable to connect to the computer. The unit is very fast and works flawlessly in Linux. I needed a floppy drive just to flash my BIOS and I thought that since that's all the use that drive would get, I'd get a floppy with a memory card reader in it too as my digital camera gets a lot of use and a card reader would be nice. It was a smart move as my case has only one 3.5" slot and the card reader gets heavy usage. I recommend this little unit very highly for anybody who would otherwise just get a floppy drive as this is one of only a few models that has a floppy drive + memory card reader.
