Had trouble initially because the chipset is supposed to be a ralink rt2500, however none of the serialmonkey (rt2x00.serialmonkey.com) drivers detect that chipset. After some experimenting and research it emerged that infact the usb version of the 2500 chipset contains an rt2570 chip and that's the driver that should be used. The latest version of the rt2570 driver from the serialmonkey site worked with no problems and comes up at boot time with the correct information in the rc files.
