Initally under Suse 10.2 the card when inserted locked up the whole system, couldn't get it to work.

Under Slackware 10.2 and kernel 2.6.15.2 there was a lot of distortion and hiss when playing back sound. Recompiled the kernel with sound card support only and none of the alsa/oss options.

Downloaded the latest development alsa releases, compiled and installed them and now sound is perfect.

here is my present situation:

I run Debian Lenny (testing) kernel 2.6.22-2-686. on a Thinkpad t60 notebook. I have a audigy2zs notebook pcmcia sound card. If plugged in at boot the kernel says not writing to ADC and does not load the card modules.
for emu10k1. if it is unplugged and I insert the card, I get a long list of kernel messages. leading me to think the kernel has a bug .

However I dont know what to ask debian or you guys even, im going to list my dmesg here as well .

please help ive done all i know , recompiled two kernels new alsa drivers etc.
