The video needs a modeline to get 1280x800 resolution.
Code:
ModeLine "1280x800" 83.46 1280 1344 1480 1680 800 801 804 828
GUI works, but still having trouble to get the tty screens (ctrl-alt-F1 through F6), for that they show a smaller section of the GUI background image instead of the text terminal.

alsaconf does not correctly identify the sound card, and puts snd-*** into the file. I had to manually modify /etc/modules.d/alsa and key in the correct sound card snd-intel8x0

acpi cannot get thermal information. probably not supported.

cpu frequency scaling doesn't seem to be working because the battery under linux dies fast.

ipw2200 works.

patched kernel source with mppe-mppc, so now VPN works.

Haven't gotten a chance to try the following stuff:

firewire
IR port
universal card reader
modem
