This is a combination machine. Prints, copies, scans, reads memory cards, unloads cameras.

All functions in this multifunction machine works perfectly.
This includes the on-screen management such as ink level
indicators. I recommend it 100%.

Install the hplip-1.6.9 package (can be found on disc 3 of Slack 11 in the /extras directory) and start /etc/rc.d/rc.hplip.
Any GUI printer config can be used or there are multiple 'hp-*' commands you can use from the command line.
Absolutely no issues to speak of.

Kernel (uname -r): 2.6.18
Distribution: Slackware 11 w/ Dropline Gnome

I had installed the hplip drivers prior to installing Dropline but once I finished that installation I was pleased to see, under "Applications" an HP Device Manager that was a complete interface for printing, scanning, reading memory cards, viewing photos, and all other features this printer offers.
HP is definitely the best pick I have found for a Linux printer with these drivers and the newer support that I have seen in this distro with Dropline.
