Vanilla version requires ifp tool. You can get it from http://ifp-driver.sourceforge.net/ Debian unstable has it in its packages.

It looks there's an firmware update that allows to use it as a standard storage device (no extra program), but I haven't tried it yet.

I bought it because it's an OGG player. I ripped first cd, copied oggs to the device and well... one of nine played at all. With others I got an error about unsupported OGG version. After some searching I found that oggs *have* to be encoded with bitrate limit from 96 to 225kbit. So, to encode a wav you need to use:
oggenc -m 96 -M 225 filename.wav
