Description: 6.1 megapixel with 6x optical zoom.
uses xd/compact flash/microdrive for storage
records video 640 x 480 @ 30 frames per second until storage device is full or recording is stopped.
Camera also has 12mp Raw mode.
Camera was tested with RedHat 9, SuSE 9.1 through 9.3, Kubuntu 5.10 RC2
Camera automounts as a usb hard drive in all Linux versions tested.
no webcam mode

Distribution: Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope



Photo quality is not very good, but the S7000 also works as a webcam right out of the box, with the gspca_finepix module.
(set-up the camera on: record mode -> setup -> USB mode -> PC)
