device `genesys:libusb:003:004' is a Hewlett Packard ScanJet 2300c flatbed scanner

Hp sj 2300c is a basic flatbed scanner capable of up to 1200dpi greyscale or full colour.

Works fast and well using the genesys backend under xsane 0.95 and FC4.

(The sane man pages include a howto, and there is good online documentation. However, I did have to power-down to get FC4 to recognise the backend.)

Using xsane-0.991, excellent results (however I don't have anything to compare it to).
I would have preferred it to be slightly longer, so that I could at least stitch together 12" album covers. As it is, it's just barely above A4 size which is 11.7" (the scanner is 11" 13/16).
The 3500C is identical to this one, but includes a port for the transparent materials adapter for scanning slides and negatives.
The buttons on the front of the scanner (scan and print) are not supported.
