Runs flawlessly in all my linus distros. The remote control also works nicely with lirc and i can also use it to control xmms and mplayer.
With FreeBSD, the module has given a lot of problems. I keep getting sigalrm signals when i start xawtv or tvtime in FreeBSD. After compiling the FreeBSD kernel several times, the problem remains. Heard that it is a bug.

Works great in linux.
Can record video from it and watch TV.
Find the reception is a bit weak, is better to use a VCR's tuner for the reception, that way you can also record in stereo audio (if you VCR is stereo)
After I recompiled mplayer with optimization I can record TV with mencoder on my Duron 1200 at 640x480 in realtime into divx5 with 3D noise reduction and high quality.
Still the best chipset for linux until the digital ones become the norm.

Work nicely and automatically detected. I used tvtime to watch it. If you are India one small tweak needed for tv-tunner card you need to setup PAL as format for television.
And need to get sound directly from tvtunner card itself and not from your sound card
