(no problems, but hey, it's Intel - dock it down a notch for monopolistic practices)

Everything installed hunky-dory OK from my first installation using simple defaults under Debian. I'm using the onboard video with Xorg, onboard sound with ALSA and JACK, etc.

This was my first self-built computer, and I spent more time physically installing components than I did installing the OS...the chip heatsink-locking mechanism for this board was particularly frustrating - chintzy plastic clips that require more force than I expected and damaged more easily than I'd like...but in the end all's well.

This motherboard gave me no problems with a 2.6.16 kernel and Slackware 10.2. I could not get the sound going in kernel 2.4. Everything else was fine. Also, Kubuntu 5.10 and Slax 5.1.6 live CDs found everything flawlessly. I have not used the onboard ethernet.

Network: works great, uses the standard Intel EtherExpress PRO/100 driver (fxp).

Video: also works just fine, I use the XFree86 i810 driver with no issues.

Audio: here's where I've run into some problems. On Suse 10.0 it recognized the device but I couldn't get any sound out of it -- same with Ubuntu 6.06. Slackware 10.2 didn't see it at all. NetBSD uses the azalia driver and everything works great right off the mark (the problem, if you see such as one, is that you need to use the NetBSD mixer controls to adjust volume, etc). GStreamer didn't recognize the card in any situation so I couldn't get apps that rely on gstreamer to work, regardless of OS.
