Description:

This laptop works fine for me under ubuntu linux (hoary)
Specs: 1.2GHz, 768MB, 80GBHD, Combidrive, 12"
Kernel 2.6.10, Xorg6.8.2, Gnome 2.10
Hoary 5.04 PPC installs with following features working flawlessly:
HDD, CD, CDburner, DVD (without cdss obviously), network, function buttons, powermanagement (but for sleep at this stage) microphone, USB ports, display (no 3d at this stage)
Bluetooth requires the bluez drivers and then works fine
Twigging xorg.conf allows 3d acceleration:
Section "Device"
Identifier "ATI Technologies, Inc. Radeon Mobility 9000 M9 (RV250)"
Driver "radeon"
BusID "PCI:0:16:0"
Option "AGPMode" "4"
Option "Mergedfb" "true"
EndSection
Section "Device"
Identifier "radeon-clone"
Driver "radeon"
Option "DDCMode" "true"
Option "CloneMode" "1024x768"
Option "MetaModes" "1280x854-1024x768 1024x768-1024x768 800x600-800x600"
Option "CRT2HSync" "31.5-80"
Option "CRT2VRefresh" "56.3-75"
EndSection
Switching on AGP Mode 4 in Xorg.conf also allowed sleep and waking up with X intact.
Sound was tinny and poor initially but improved by throwing out the sound module snd_powermac and replacing it with dmasound_pmac in /etc/modules and /etc/modprobe.d/alsabase
Firewire support for external harddrives works after installing relevant packes out of the ubuntu repositories
