Detected by hotplug in Slackware 9.1, modules loaded fine and works fine. If you want the wheel working you need to add Options "ZAxisMapping" "4 5" to the XF86Config file under the mouse entry. CHeck for posts ont he forum for that info.

Althought Slack tells me 'PS/2 common for all mice', I still have to select 'USB connected mouse' in mouseconfig. Then, it works just fine.

Like Astro said, don't forget to add ZAxisMapping :)

Mandrake 9.2 detects it as a generic USB Wheel Mouse.

Red Hat 9.0 has a tendency to have trouble resolving the type. It may get auto-detected as a PS/2 3 Button mouse, which is incorrect. This doesn't seem to effect the functioning of the mouse though. It will still work normally (including the wheel), although you can always select "USB Wheel Mouse" manually during installation or post installation if you wish.

Neither of the these two distros requires any special driver for the mouse.

NOTE: This mouse comes packaged with a small PS/2 adapter which attaches to the end of it's USB cord so you can plug it into a PS/2 port too. I haven't used it yet, so I can't attest to its reliability.

The only "problem" is the misdetection done by SuSE - it detects and queries the mouse as "Logitec Optical USB Mouse", but then it fails to give that specific choice in the list of supported mouse devices. You have to choose it as "USB Wheel Mouse". The misdetection does not affect though the mouse's proper functioning.

I bought the mouse not expecting the scroll wheel to function, but it does. I was surprised that I was using it unconsciencely.

Came up fine and was able to use it for the install.

'Logitech Mini Mouse Optical' registers as 'Logitech Optical USB Mouse' in lspci after connecting it to my Laptop with Ubuntu installed. All functions worked out of the box.
