Description: Creative Webcam NoteBook is a perfect match and specifications design for Notebooks of those RoadWarriors who are constantly on the run. Fitting with only 2.4" (60 millimeters) in length and 17 millimeters in height (without the clip), it is great way to supercharge your instant messaging with video. Creative Webcam NoteBook is built to pitch 45 degrees downwards and a 270 degrees panning angle.

Creative Webcam NoteBook employs a CMOS color sensor that enables still images captures of 640 x 480 resolutions and live video up to 640 x 480resolutions at 15 fps. Its high quality crystal clear lens can be manually adjust its depth of field that captures ultra close-up digitized images.

There are a few known versions of the camera; all of them should work with spca50x, but with different drivers/bridges (see the label on the back of your camera for the PD Number):

* PD 1171 --> uses a Z-Star Hardware
* PD 1170 --> most of them uses a Conexant hardware; some of them uses the Z-Star Hardware found in PD-1171.

To get this camera working, you'll want to see the instructions at http://feanor.sssup.it/~pj/linux/cre..._notebook.html.

In a nutshell, you're going to need a release >= 0.55 of spca5xx and a release >= 0.32 of spcaview. You'll also need video4linux.

Excellent help. Downloaded spca5xx from the links and simply followed instructions. Very good picture quality for me as well as for my viewers.
