Description:
|
This device, also called a port replicator, allows a desktop installation of a laptop. You connect a monitor, keyboard, mouse and network cable to the docking station and slide your laptop in.
The station acts as an Adaptec AIC-7880U SCSI controller with removable devices. I've found that removing the laptop while powered up causes it to crash. Something that is possible in Windows.
Video also presents a problem as the XServer ati driver sends output to the LCD rather than to the CRT resulting in a blank monitor. This can be solved with 'Options "display" "BIOS" ' in your video cards definition section of XF86Config-4 or xorg.conf
