Description: I use it on my Slackware 10.1 with success.

However Canon don't yet provides Linux drivers for this printer.

To use it you have to download turboprint drivers from:

http://www.turboprint.de/english.html

You have to download the free version (only for personal use) either you have to pay the licence.

I have very similar printer - PIXMA iP 1300. I can say that the turboprint driver somehow works - but it prints quite large logo of itself making printouts useless. Turboprint asks for about 30.00 US$ which is OK but I'm not willing to pay becouse cost of the printer is only about $60.00, it means for about $100 I can chose diferent printer with a proper driver...

I didn't want to get Turboprint and the only driver Canon provide is in RPM format, which is no good to me. I heard rpm2tgz can mess up your system, so didn't want to bother with it. Canon don't seem to care about Linux users.
