Description:

Setup was originally quite confusing. I use uDev but do not use hotplug to load my modules (I do have it installed) and initially I could not get the card to display any lights at all. I soon discovered that you must use the firmware update available here:
http://prism54.org/~mcgrof/firmware/isl3890
With this installed to your hotplug firmware dir, normally /usr/lib/hotplug/firmware, you can simply
Code:
$ modprobe prism54
$ ifconfig eth0 up
It is only after I bring up the interface that I get any lights at all.
There are also chipset/version problems:

If you have a Made in China card or Version 3 then i think you have to use ndiswrapper.
