Comes with the slmodem driver for the 2.4.x kernel. For the 2.6.x, it requires the newer version of the driver available for download at Smartlink's website.

This is about the same as the other SmartLink modem I've used. FYI, It's a WinModem, so don't expect even decent performance even if you do get it installed (which is the hard part under Linux). It was cheap, about 30 dollars, and once again claimed compatibility with Linux on the box (or at least a driver). Couldn't get the driver to install, once again, and didn't bother, once again. I just returned it. Note: I did actually try this under Windows, and it has the same problem as the other SmartLink modem I tried (after intense use for about three days it can't hold a connection for more than 30 seconds). A driver fix probably would have repaired it, but I just didn't see the point. And once again, all I can say is, do yourself a favor, buy a real controller based modem, you'll thank yourself later. Don't buy in to these rip-off WinModems even if they do work for Linux. It's just too much work.
