I don't know what to say for this; it's a great card under Windows but unfortunately is not well supported by Linux. I paid only 30 dollars for this card and can't say I nesecarily had expected full Linux support. Now, realize it WORKS under Linux, but you get horrible crackling noises consistantly. I toyed with the audio settings for about an hour before returning it. Yes, I realize I could have delved deeper into ALSA file configuration and such, but didn't want to spend all my time doing so. I was just too busy. Besides that, I'm not what you would call an "audiophile" so I'm not one to play with ALSA all the time anyway; just give me a card that sounds normal and works under any distro and I won't be able to tell the difference between that and a model costing 100 dollars more. If you like messing with ALSA all day to get sound to work then this is for you; otherwise I'd recommend you go with a different card, preferibly a TurtleBeach. I've never had any bad experiences with them.

It doesn't work.

I spent the better part of a week getting the ALSA drivers configured for this card. All I got for my efforts was some faint sound that was covered with "noise" (static, pops, etc).

Don't get fooled by the ALSA site that tells you their snd_ca0106 module is all you need.

Don't use this card.

Installation works fine on Ubuntu.

This card offers a lot of features, all of them works under Windows, of course.

However, on GNU/Linux, not all of them work (only one output is supported, for instance), and I noticed some kind of "static", distortion when I raise the volume (and I have good speakers!).

However, I think that in time, this card is going to be much more supported.

Do not use this card for recording, because the result is not good and clear as in Windows.
