Because I already had my system set up for USB flash disks, this required absolutely no configuration to get working: Just plugged it in & ran "mount /mnt/usb"

Of course, FAT being such a limiting filesystem, it was quickly split into multiple partitions. The first one remains FAT so I can take my gigs of MP3s to work with me to listen to on my Windows XP machine (which also recognises this disk flawlessly), the second is a Linux partition I use to back up my home PC files. There was no trouble formating for either partition type.

The USB2 connection makes for a pretty speedy disk. I can run movies & MP3s off it without any trouble, and backing up my hard drive takes very little time. I also run Firefox & OpenOffice off this disc at work, both of which run without any problems. A valuable plus for office use is that it runs in almost complete silence - you honestly don't know it's there. It does run slightly warm tho, so you may need to be careful where you put it.

The only things I don't like about it are: the flimsy rubber covering that protects the USB & power sockets during transport; and the fact that the USB cable is a separate item, instead of being built-in. Other than that, it's great.
