The Brother proprietary drivers and install scripts are not available as *.tgz Slack packages.
For installation under Slack using CUPS try this:
1. Download the DCP110Clpr-1.0.2-1.i386.rpm, cupswrapperDCP110C-1.0.0-1.i386.rpm and brscan2-0.0.1-0.i386.rpm packages from the Brother Industries homepage into a temporary directory.
2. Become root and convert to Slack packages using rpm2tgz.
3. Install the packages using pkgtool.
4. Change directory to /usr/local/Brother/cupswrapper and rerun the install script in a C shell with the -i option.
i.e. sh cupswrapperDCP110C-1.0.0 -i
5. Change directory to /usr/local/Brother/sane and rerun the install script in a C shell with the -i option.
i.e. sh setupSaneScan2 -i
6. Reboot the PC. The hotplug script will automatically mount the usbfs file system when it detects the new USB devices.
7. Make a new group scanner and add users to this group that need access to the scanner.
