Would you recommend the product? yes | Price you paid? (in USD): None indicated | Rating: 0

Kernel (uname -r): defaults for: mepis 3.1; opensuse 10.1; kubuntu 6.06
Distribution: mepis; opensuse; kubuntu;

Yes, I recommend it 'cause it works. No, its not the best laptop; it is heavy and the viewing angles on the screen are pretty poor. Wifi works with ndiswrapper.

Everything worked out-of-box with each of these three distros, except Modem (untested), Built-in Wifi (Broadcom 5700, which does work with ndiswrapper though), and the extra buttons.

More on my wifi setup:

this went much smoother after i learned a bit.

I've heard that there is an "acer extra button" package somewhere that gets these going, but i have no idea and never tried.

FYI my machine is an Aspire 3002LCi but it came with a DVD+-RW, 512MB, and Sepmron 3000. just lucky i guess!
