Description:
|
I'm only guessing on the manufacturer and model. I bought this used on eBay for very cheap.
It uses the Conexant Fusion 878A (bt8x8) chipset. It came with a Philips 3139 FI1236 NTSC tuner.
By default, the bttv and tuner modules will not (or didn't for me) detect the card type and tuner type. They must be specified at boot time, or when you modprobe the modules.
For bttv and tuner built-in:
It's necessary to pass boot time kernel arguments from your bootloader, be it GRUB or LILO, to the kernel before it boots.
GRUB Example: kernel /path/to/kernel root=/path/to/root bttv.card=51 bttv.tuner=2
For bttv and tuner as modules:
Just modprobe with options. :D
Modprobe Example: (as root) modprobe bttv card=51 tuner=2
For a specific card or tuner type, look in:
/usr/src/linux/Documentation/video4linux/CARDLIST.bttv
/usr/src/linux/Documentation/video4linux/CARDLIST.tuner
Obviously, you need to have the kernel sources installed to view these files.
