Saw this in our local supermarket for £164.99 with a 64Mb card, read a review online (http://www.steves-digicams.com/2004_reviews/ex-s100.html) and bought it despite not being able to find any docs on how to get it running under linux.

A few tweaks were needed, but I left details there.

Connection is through a card reader on the front of the computer, not sure what its listed as, but the instructions above seem fairly generic, all you need to do is work out which (SCSI in my setup) device the card reader is connected to.

The camera itself is beautiful! Its tiny (slightly larger than the credit card used to buy it and pretty thin). Picture quality is excellent so far, but only having had it for a few hours I haven't really tested it much.

The LCD panel is nice and large, and some of the Bestshot presets look interesting. So far the menus have been intuitive and its fairly straight forward to use.

A few weeks playing with the camera has revealed that my money was well spent, its simple to use, quick to fire up and shoot, and the vast array of presets cover most situations (red-filters applied to sunset shots are really nice). For the size the quality is pretty damn good (providing you use the "Fine" setting), but with 512Mb SD cards at < £25 (from ebuyer.com) its not really a problem as you can fit 272 pictures on it. The only draw back I would say is that the camera doesn't come with a case. These can either be bought from the casio web-site, or you can get a generic one (for far less!).

I'd highly recommend this camera to anyone considering purchasing a digital camera for point and shoot pictures whilst out and about as the size, price and range of functions all serve to make it a bargain.
