installed ProMEPIS beta 04, SimplyMEPIS 2004.06, SimplyMEPIS 3.3.1; works very well with standard install.
Debian kernels 2.6.10 & 2.6.11.6
56k modem, firewire, monitor clone, sound & wi-fi work with default install.
A little setup needed with acpi, & cpu scaling.
Very stable.
